The numbers tend to be somewhat arbitrary in my experience. The games I tested had about 13,000 bugs in the database by the time of release on average, granted a fair number were waived... but at least it included everything from alpha forward. No I didn't add a zero there.
Anyway, even if you have the number of bugs, how will that information help? Would you want it higher or lower? Both seem to have negative connotations to the public anyway.

I got the impression that they didn't really want to destroy Vic, but felt they had to in order to be consistent with the BM's attack.
