Firework is a nice change from some of her sluttier songs, such as California Girls. Not that I have a problem with any of that, but it's nice to see her making somewhat more personal and meaningful music.
Although...... fireworks shooting from her and everyone's chests........ I had to NOT watch the video to be able to appreciate the lyrics.
