@HoM: when you add people to your pal pad who also connect to the dream world(and they also add you) you can go to their houses 
@Stephen: When the pokemon goes to sleep, it connects to the global link which is a website, you have a dream world id given to you in the game and you link your GL account to the game.
so it goes like this Pokemon put to sleep > is available in dream world>you go into the dream forest you get a pokemon>you close dream world> you wake up your pokemon in the game and the pokemon you got in the dream world will appear in the high link forest.
