ITT:Post your future child's name

It's not just anime characters, Spidey, but I rarely see people on the internet or anywhere really going I'M GONNA NAME MY KID ANGELINA JOLIE. Anyone who names their kid after anyone like that is just as ridiculous and probably shouldn't have kids. When you pre-choose names -- especially ones connected to things you enjoy, you're taking away from that child. When I said a name should be personal I meant it should be something that you feel when you first see the baby.

Really? You don't see people saying they'll name their kid Angelina if their favorite celebrity is Angelina Jolie? Nobody said anything about last names, the last part is what makes it sound strange. Just take the first name, and you'll see it's not that uncommon at all.

Also, lots of people pick out names for their children before they're born. It doesn't matter where they got the name from, if they like the name then it's fine if they come up with it on the spot or actually put thought into picking something nice.

In fact, most people I know don't think of a name on the spot as soon as their baby pops out. I don't know if that's common around where you live, but most people I've known pick out names long before the baby is even born.

But giving it an anime name or a stupid name like CLOUD pretty much dooms it to be harassed for the first 13 years of it's life and can take a serious toll on it's self-esteem. It shouldn't be about what you think is cool, it should be about what's best for the child. If you like the name Cloud then go change your name, don't put a kid through that.

Also Isaac and I were talking about this just a couple weeks ago and some really bad(ass) real names include Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii and Number 16 Bus Shelter.

No it doesn't. Like I said, the names he picked are normal. They're rare names that you don't see much nowadays, but they're still normal names. One of the series he picked also has a character named "Maria" in it. If he really liked that name and used it, would it matter that he got it from an anime?

And come now, Sarah. You're not seriously comparing a name like Beatrice to "Cloud" are you? I guess if the name isn't common today, it might as well be something extremely stupid, right? Because if it's not a name found in every other household, it's dumb. By the way, I actually had a girl named Cloud in my class in High School, and she was born before Final Fantasy, if that's where you took the name from. It's an odd name, but nobody really cared. In fact, people liked it because of how unique it was.

Also, you really like bringing up bullying. You realize bullies will find literally anything to pick on if they really want to pick on you, right? Even stuff that's fairly normal can be a source of bullying. They don't care so much what they use for bullying as much as they care about the target they're bullying. In most cases, anyway. I guess I can't speak for you, since you're a self proclaimed Bad Girl that picked on others when you were a kid.
