Well, as Keima said: They won't know which option will be the right one until they try it. The most logical option would be to try every option in order, which is what they did.
Anyhow, I'm more impressed with the Next Episode Preview part though.

It doesn't really seem like that big of a deal in English, but in Japanese...well, you'll get what I mean if you listen closely.
