i can just imagine that little boy's older brother saying to him before he shipped out for basic "Be a good kid, don't get into trouble, and i love you."
Before he ships out for his first tour of duty, reminding his little brother to stay out of trouble and to do good in school, and he was proud of him. then the younger brother running up and hugging him, saying he's proud to have a brother in the marines, and he loves him too.
then when his family hears the news, i can imagine the heartache he goes through, hearing that his hero, his symbol of what a man really is, died.
then i can picture myself behind him in that scene, and just imagine him holding back his tears, and telling himself "be strong, be strong for my brother. don't cry, show him you can be as big a man as he was."
