Partioning more space

I remember when I did the dual boot, that I had to shrink my harddrive to create a partition. Can that same program be used to resize or do I need to use GParted.

Disk Management only allows you to use 'Extend Volume' on a partition in which you've gained free space by shrinking that partition. Graphically, you can only use Extend Volume on free space directly to the right of the partition you're enlarging. Free space gained from shrinking your Vista partition will always appear to the left of your XP partition.

GParted has a partition-resize function. It looks fairly self-explanatory from the screenshots on the website. I've never used it so I wouldn't know. Your other option is to ghost your XP partition to a new, larger partition and delete the old XP partition.
