This. JMS have had a slight leg-up in the form of 1.25x multiplier and Japan-exclusive content (original Jipang, Jipang expansion, Neo Tokyo) which game a huge advantage over even KMS players plus was the first version to have a 2x exp ticket. Japan is a fiercer battle ground for offline and online gaming (don't forget we have Nintendo, Sony and Square Enix along with dozens of top game houses Bandai Namco, Capcom, Sega, Konami, etc) and a huge cell phone gaming industry like Mobage and Gree. I think the two cancels each other out.
JMS exclusive/original content also tend to require a very high degree of player cooperation and coordination (anego, samurai warrior, core blaze) which is probably only feasible in JMS (with its homogenized player base and single culture/language). Nexon Japan will probably make their own decisions if they follow their predecessors.
