I'd say so to a certain extent, although if I remember correctly, you can't jump. Definitely not a professor Layton layout. You are brought to each stage moving forward per chapter and each time you gain new inventory as you go along. Say you find a stick; you could use it as either a torch or a level as the need arises. Basically, the puzzles are taking the items you have and finding the proper use for them to proceed in the level. However, the controls are a bit gimmicky. In the first stage you grab an umbrella and you have to hold it upright to open it. Still, not too twitchy and I think it is one of the best use of the Wiimote I've seen in the games I've played. It is also far more decision based than action based. You won't be placed into too many situations where timing will be a problem. Order of operations is far more important. My only problem area was one stage that required a sword fight late in the game. The controller sensitivity just wasn't there for that one part of the game which made it a difficult area to pass.
The style is admittingly childish, but if you can get past that, I'd think you'd enjoy it. At only 10$ used, I don't see why not.
Was thinking of linking a video, but it'd spoil the later ones and the earlier tutorial style ones are sorta... Well, let's just say they make it look so childish that it is off-putting.
Also, thanks for this thread, I'll have to give Muramasa a look myself now.
