Dude, I'm getting a Wii!

Like... how much? Ugh the more I hear about the Wiistore the more I hate it. Sell me a full game you piece of crap.

I can't check right now, but it was an awful lot, - square enix abuse the pineapple out of the ability to sell dlc over the wii store in every every single game they've released on wiiware. On the upside, I enjoyed most of the chapters, but once I realised how much I've wasted on DLC on SE games, i've pretty much come to a stop from buying any square game on the service because I know they're going to try and get me for every penny. Really hate abuse of DLC by companies. On the upside, they're the only people who do that sort of thing on wiiware. Maybe capcom occasionally.

The thing that annoys me most about the wiistore is the complete lack of demos ( they did do a test run a while ago of giving 5 games demos, which were then all in the tops of best selling games for the weeks every single week they had the demos up for download, so its beyond me why they haven't implemented it properly) and the fact that they NEVER EVER seem to budge on sales prices. I think the only time they've EVER lowered anythings price in the wiistore was when sega ran a discount on 10 or so genesis/mega drive games, which was only temporary, but again, pushed the sales of all those games to the top of the charts. Nintendo really needs some tips in how to run an online store well, and the sooner the better.

Anything these games offer that's different / better than the handhelds?

If you didn't like the GBA fire emblem games, you probably won't like the GC/Wii games. That said, if you've only played the DS one, that game was a pomegranatepile and the worst FE game by miles. The only differences that spring to mind is an inbuilt skill system, you find skills as items that you can assign to any character of your choosing, and occasionally some come with them built in when they job up. The skills range from being able to forcibly move units a square or 2 away to improving combat ablities to nullifying any chance of criticals by opponents and so on.
There are also some new units called "laguz" who are essentially humans that can transform into animals, but they pretty much suck for most of the game(s) until you can get a skill to let them stay transformed the whole time. Oh, and you earn bonus exp that you can distribute to any of your units in between levels based on various criteria during levels depending on how quickly you finish, and a couple of other things, including bonus objectives like not killing innocent priests or similar that happen to be on the map, though most of the time this are only vaguely hinted at during cutscenes between levels as to what you have to do.

Played it on the DS. Is it the same? I'm not a fan of the whole... farming thing. Why do people keep playing games that are just like real life. If I wanted to grow a garden I would do it in real life. I actually think I might. Oh wait, winter.

Rune factory is fairly similar to harvest moon in some aspects, but it has a lot more emphasis on the dungeon crawling- you have to go dungeon crawling if you want to upgrade any items, including your farming tools , weapons and armour. After a bit you can actually befriend monsters to do all the farmwork for you, as well as come into the dungeons to help you explore

I don't listen to review scores, haha. I pay attention to what my friends say and what I see on youtube and it didn't impress me. I really liked the Metroid for the SNES but the series has taken some seriously awful turns (WHY FPS, WHYYYYY) and also the fact that Samus is a female has turned into a gimmick and that pisses me off.

That was just me throwing what I'd give it as a number out, its certainly no super metroid, and the linearity of metroid other m sucked, as does some of the storyline logic with regard to what power ups you can use. Zero suit samus is a goddam disgrace ever since she appeared in the 3d games, I can live with her having a personality and being an actual person outside of the suit, but the sexualization is just really unneeded.

But maaaan am I ever excited about SPM. I am the biggest fan of the Paper Mario franchise (well, I just love Mario RPGs in general). They have so much... pizzazz. They seem to cover everything that conventional RPGs are too afraid to (SMALL NUMBERS? WHAT WILL THE PLAYERS LOOK AT?) and they've got a wonderful sense of humour as well as SO FREAKING MANY SIDEQUESTS. I loves me some sidequest.

SPM is more of a 2d platformer than an rpg. It's definetly a paper mario game though, it has the humor and everything that made the first 2 paper mario games great, except the turn based battles. I'm really looking forward to the 3DS papermario game whenever that comes out (Which will be the game that makes me actually go and buy a 3ds)
