FFCC: My Life As King sounds like a more kiddy war game. Not super interested if that's what it is. I like to get my grind on.
I own SMRPG (the actual cartridge) but I certainly wouldn't mind having a legit copy of SoM, even if it is only in data form. How exactly do wii points work?
Adding to what xBTAx said, there are classes and levels in addition to the money. If you land on the same spot as another player, you fight them and the victor gets to steal stuff from the loser. Story mode has objectives to meet in order to finish each chapter. The winner of each chapter obtains a castle in addition to their towns. There is a class called "darkling" that you have to sacrifice everything you own in order to become, but gain extreme power and abilities (IE re-summon monsters to every town on the map making all players lose their source of income). Overall it is a extremely simple system with a long, LONG play time that is tedious unless you have a room-mate or sibling or someone who will always be there. Just imagine playing monopoly with swords for a several hundred turns (not joking, I only completed one game in 142 weeks which each were 7 turns).
Sorry for the way I said that. I hadn't played in quite a bit of time and only finished one playthrough so honestly I don't know as much as several of the Tales devotes we have around here. I'll put it this way (note numbers may be off); story characters asides from the primary two can only level up to 50. Monsters have various ranks, lowest having a max level of 25, and highest of 200. If you want to tackle the difficult content in the game you must use the monsters. They don't have many glamorous techniques either. I agree that the story and characters are both kind of bland, however was still recommending giving it a shot. That's what I was trying to say.
Z&W actually has a pretty good set of puzzles, but expect to start levels over again since some traps are death and many of the levels have more than one solution. Munchables was basically Katamari nom; and deBlob is a turn this B&W world colorful game.
FFCC: MLaK; To a certain extent, I'll agree that it is a kiddy game. You do have to keep moral up in order to make sure the adventurers are happy at home and that involves spending most of each day randomly talking with townsfolk. I wouldn't really call it a war game though. You post up to three missions each day for the adventurers to tackle and leave the rest to them. No real strategy other than setting up the parties and making sure the stores in town are stocked with items/skills that will be useful in the dungeons. You don't even set their equipment; they have to buy it on their own time and with their own money. Again, different; and again, RPG-starved console.
SNES games are primarily $8.00 each. $12.00 ones are only ones that were imported and translated specifically as virtual console titles. N64 is generally $10. Yes, I'd very much agree that those prices are expensive. They never have sales either. I'd love it if they would take on steam's pricing strategy, but I still buy many of the primary games of the past as I can since I'd like to undo my piracy from years ago. I'd imagine anyone would do the same if they worked in the industry.
I'm going to join the others in recommending Galaxy 1 at least. I wouldn't say go buy both, since I still see them as too similar to one another, but not giving at least one of them a shot would be a shame.
Again, most of my recommendations here are not all that strong. I tend to buy lots of games and rate them decently so long as I got something I felt was value out of them. I know a gem when I see it, but I typically don't hate on games either.
Hopefully this post isn't any more confusing, as it is 3AM.
