Given what you've said, I sort of doubt you'd like the metroid trilogy. While I haven't played the modified 1 or 2, 3 was a carpal tunnel inducer. I still enjoyed all three a great deal, but your opinions seem to me like that'd not suit your tastes.
Further details of ToS2 is that the story characters, however you are also able to recruit and evolve in game monsters which more often than not have far higher level caps. This doesn't really mean much on a first playthrough, but for those who want to do all the extras it does restrict a bit. I'll admit most aspects of the game were a bit bland, but the RPG market for the wii is starved, so I'd still give it a shot.
Dokapon Kingdom is an RPG I bought a while ago, but I'd advise against buying it. Throws RPGs together with party board games only this time a single game can take over 60 hours
.
If you can find it cheap, Zack & Wiki is a nice buy. Mostly a puzzle game, but a pretty good one at that.
If you enjoyed random break games like Katamari Damacy, DeBlob and Munchables fall into that "Unique" category that are good for cooling off.
For the WiiWare there's a bunch of no-name companies there so I can't say I've tried much, but a RPG with a different approach to check out would be FFCC: My Life as King. Essentially you manage a base for adventures to explore from. You don't do any of the dungeon crawling, instead sending out the adventurers and making sure their spoils are put to good use by investing in upgrading the town's supplies for them. Can get very annoying at times, but can also get very addicting. I guess it'd be like combining FF with SimTower.
Other than that though, I really just treat my Wii as a nostalgia fix and to correct my prior wrongs of pirating games years ago by purchasing them as they come out on virtual console. Can't go wrong with Secret of Mana or Super Mario RPG.
Really though, since I've gotten my Wii, my RPG purchases have gone backwards in gen; picking up all the PS1 and PS2 RPGs I missed along the way. Can't say any of these recommendations are very strong ones.
