Meta's Rabbit gave you all a clue, but nobody paid attention. The King of Hearts is the Suicide King, the one with a knife in his head, and the only other suit with a person in it was spades, which if you added up the numerical values (1, 3, and 11) you would get 15, which was the number of his killer.

I found the pockets thing kind of funny though.
Meph - After checking his pockets, all you find is a wallet with some credit cards and around $400. You quietly pocket $20 and place the wallet back inside his pocket.
E6 - You check his pockets, but all you can find is a still damp sponge and a bottle of soap.
BTA - You attempt to check his pocket, but he catches you and slaps you across the face. Hard enough to leave a handprint.
Mira - You were a little woozy last night, and ended up showing your rabbit to Mute. You checked his pockets, but all you could find was lint.
