However, I think Nexon can afford to release an "earplug" cash shop item that would turn off smegas for a limited duration (an hour maybe?), priced so that normal people would only buy it for special situations (like major boss runs) where smegas are not just annoying, they put your life in danger.
As for the pet, I think Nexon missed the target with the snail. They should have given it equips (equally short lived), so people would see how nice it is to have a pet loot and pot for them. That snail didn't do anything but look cute, even though the quest text said it could loot and stuff. I've seen many a newbie ask "why doesn't my snail loot" and when we told them "you have to buy the loot gear in cash shop" they said "lame" and just let the snail die. If the snail actually demonstrated the power of pets for free, it would make people much more likely to buy a pet and its gear once the snail went away.
I would also like to see permanent pet equips, possibly priced like the permanent pets (i.e., would take a year to pay for themselves).
