Judging by some of the more detailed posts amid all the griping on SW, it appears that Nexon simply banned anyone who gained some huge amount of experience in a short period of time. Buy a 2x card and grind at Skelegons with friends during 2x event, and BOOM! Several people whom I would believe (due to their reputations, because I don't know them) suffered this fate.
Of course this also nailed many buyers and sellers of leeched EXP, particularly those who also used 2x cards.
Based on this, I am assuming (for now) that this is not a crackdown on leeching, much as I might get a kick out of that, but an attempt to catch people who leveled "too fast" by abusing glitches. They set some threshold for "too fast" and zapped anyone who crossed it, because that's much easier than reviewing each case personally.
I guess they figure any innocent people who got hit by this will submit trouble tickets to get their bans lifted.
