They did, but only after the patch went live with the faulty data.
The error had been pointed out as soon as Tespia opened, in the extraction thread for it. It's not a bug that requires much effort to duplicate and test and figure out a solution for, it's just a set of mistyped (or rather, miscopied) numbers that could be fixed in a minute. Yet they did not do it, and the version that went to the game servers, many days later, still had the same wrong data.
Only after we started laughing at them, did they put in an awkward server-sided workaround, and post a notice about it being "just a visual glitch". Pfeh.
