WHEN you encounter the “This program has known compatibility issues” error
When this error message occurs please click the “Run program” option. Also when you drive in the street, ignore the STOP signs and keep driving. Any loud bumps you hear are simply figments of your imagination. You can also check the box “Don’t show this message again”, because we want you to pretend along with us that faulty coding for MS is the problem and Windows is telling you as such. You DO NOT want the Program Compatibility Assistant to alert you again, pls.
Run MapleStory in Compatibility Mode, and trash those 15 seconds of your life. Achievement unlocked: Time Wasted.
MapleStory is not optimized for Windows Vista or 7 HOLY pomegranate WE ACTUALLY NEEDED TO TELL YOU THIS. You obviously could not have figured this out on your own. This game hasn't had an operating system update in YEARS. Oops we did just admit to this game being archaic!?!? However, changing the compatibility mode of the program may reduce your game issues (lol).
- Go your MapleStory client folder (usually located at C:\Nexon\MapleStory).
- Right-click MapleStory.exe
- Access the Compatibility tab
-Smash your monitor in the face
- Under Compatibility Mode check the box “Run this in compatibility mode for:” and select Windows XP Service Pack 2.
- Click OK and restart your computer.
Your anti-virus may prompt you a confirmation to run the program so be sure to allow it. If Program Compatibility Assistant appears please click the “Run program” option.
If the provided solutions do not work please post on this thread the information requested below.
Your computer’s Operating System (Please indicate if you are using 32-bit or 64-bit) this is the problem, and coding a new client is the only option
Your computer’s Graphics Card (Make and Model) -dedicated GPU or IGP, this isn't the cause of d/c issue, since there are so many people with different GPUs that get d/ced
Your Computer’s Memory (RAM)- read above, but adjust for RAM memory clock speed, size, manufacturer, timings, dual/triple channel, ganged/ungangedetc.
Your Internet Connection Speed- now i know you're grasping for whatever data
Frequency of the Disconnection (how many times an hour & be as detailed as possible) - hey something relevant! Except it should've been asked 'how often and what are you doing in the game when you d/c"
