TNT will not destroy blocks when submerged in a fluid. Pour water on TNT, set it off and run. It keeps it's shockwave, and this is the principle behind TNT Cannons.
Edit: Oh, Creepers. I read "TNT, guys".
Hit a creeper and run. When it's quiet, hit it again. Repeat this until it suicides or until you kill it. I have never died to a creeper since starting this.
Celio Wrote:My "home" is about three minutes away from the spawn point, so the walk isn't too annoying yet, but my routine so far goes a little like this: Try to explore, die, walk back and collect what I dropped, die again. Can anyone give me some tips? I'm playing on "Normal" difficulty and refuse to go any lower. I don't think I'll enjoy the game knowing that I'm playing on a difficult that is fit for babies. I just want to mine! BUT I CAN'T!
First off, if you don't need it don't bring it. Make a storage room and fill it with your pomegranate. Put a door to it if you're worried about creepers sneaking in.
I am not a fan of cooked ham as a source of health. While I'll slay pigs I run into, I prefer to mass wheat. "Plow" some grass somewhere until you have a few seeds, then make an indoor farm. Depending on your map, you could easily make a sun-room indoor farm. Throw all your spare coal into torches to light up the farm during the night and you'll be fine. My map is really mountainous. My base is in the side of a cliff. A sun roof is not a practical method for me. Smoother maps can, however.
My farm pattern is as fallows:
C = crop/dirt
P = path
W = water way
C-P-C-W
My farm is entirely underground, so I proceed to spam torches like no tomorrow, as seen here.
Spoiler
Really simple. I don't mirror it because I like having one aisle to walk down. There might be better ways, as I'm still playing with farming. I would Google around if you want to get into more exactness of it.
Protip for water: A-B-C is a 3x1 hole in the ground, 1 block deep. Place a bucket of water in A and C. B will always be a source, even if you pick it up with a bucket. Essentially infinite water springs. Making more than 2 buckets is wasteful, most of the time.
Three wheat can then be turned into 1 bread: A nice renewable resource that won't wear down your weapons. Stone Spade thingie should be fine for plowing.
