Buying an item that was hacked basically shows that you're supporting the hackers who obtained that item.
The D/C hackers that "control" boss runs aren't any better than those who are currently hacking HT, what is it, every 10-15 minutes in some worlds? I know in Broa we have cave holders because we don't want a well-known hacker basically holding an auction over who gets to HT next. I know for Scania the situation could be different.
All in all, a hack is a hack and hurts the economy is some way, shape or form. I'd rather buy an item for a higher price because it was obtained legitly, than buy one at a lower price because it's more convenient thanks to hacks, even though the latter is tempting for just about everyone.
