When you buy a Character Card, you get 70 scrolls that levels you up, two lv 64 maple weapons, a maple hat, a maple cape and 1000 maple leaves.

There's a 7th anniversary event which lets you trade in a maple weapon for silver coins (5 or 7 for lv 64) or 500 maple leaves for a silver coin. The event also gives you maple leaves when you level up, so at the end of the day you end up with 13 to 17 coins. A chaos scroll costs 15 coins so you put that into MTS and voila, you get a cashback (used to be around 1000 NP but now around 650 NP). The actual cost would be around 500 to 900 NP (6 to 10 dollars). I suppose the same thing happened in KMS.
