Well yeah, that's how I do it at least. Literally flying back and forth the full distance is already a minute wasted, which pretty much makes it impossible to get back to your door. It only takes about 30 sec or so to get from Leafre -> ToT by spamming the jump button, or in my case "Holding", in which case you have 1min 30sec to kill before your door expires.
