The exp curve is completely changed. Instead of being one large equation, it's become a piece-wise system depending on job. There's also "holds" in the exp around job advances where the required exp to level stays the same for about 5 levels.
But for the most part, exp needed was reduced about 60%. Mind you, job skills, damage, and mob exp and HP have also changed a ton, so 60% less exp needed to level doesn't necessarily mean 2.5x leveling speed.
