7.0 Earthquake in New Zealand

I'm perfectly safe. I live in the North Island, the quake was in the South. The quake was felt heavily in my own home town, but I checked on my family and they are all fine. I can not speak for how safe Heidi is, but I can tell you she isn't dead. There have been no fatalities and there have been only 2 reported serious injuries (crushed by a chimney and cut by falling glass). Buildings have collapsed, roads are cracked and such, and Christchurch is in a state of emergency. I wouldn't expect to hear from Heidi soon as water and electricity are still down as far as I know, but I hope she will come and let you guys know when she can.
