From what people are saying in the beta, the glyphs that changed from Minor -> Major or Major -> Prime, they're updated to those glyphs, but your current ones are still in the same place they were at pre-update, but they do NOT function until you place them in the correct glyph ring.
An example would be my Muti glyph. Since my Mutilate glyph is a "Major" glyph and in cata it becomes a "Prime" glyph, come 4.0, it'll be as a "Prime" glyph in a "Major" glyph ring, but it won't work until I fix it and place it in a "Prime" glyph ring.
