Here's another form of scamming that is quite common, considering all the attempts at monopolies at it.
Zakum Helmet Scamming
Intro: Some people have been using the Zakum Helmet selling business to swindle money/accounts from innocent players.
The Situation: Most of the Zakum groups require you to give your account info so they can run on your account. (This is for your convenience and also to prevent people from looting helms out of turn or looting the entire altar.) However, some people have exploited this ideal by enticing the person with low helm prices and the above policy. The victim gives the money/account info, and victim gets no helmet and loses the mesos/account.
Another form of this scamming are people who try to impersonate the Zakum group hosters to give them your money/account info. Example: Let's say a Zak group has you pay money to a guy called NoHelmsPlz. A scammer could try to take the IGNs NoHeImsPlz, NoHeImsPIz, and NoHelmsPIz.
How to Prevent This: Ask if the group has a website with information on the subject. Usually, most reliable Zakum groups will have a list of people that they successfully helmed, and also will list who exactly to give money/account info to. If you're feeling even more paranoid, try ask some of those people that they helmed about the service and stuff. Also, ask the group if people have been scamming people by attempting to impersonate the hosts. Usually, the real host people will be distinquishable by things such as level or NX. And if all else fails, a quick /find will do the job easily.
Also, Remember to change your account info after you have successfully bought a helm from a group by having someone run on your account! It never hurts to be too careful.
