On some other video, Ive noted that the DoT count is uninterruptable now, its no longer reset each time the monster is hit with a poisoning skill. If you hit a monster with Paralyze five times in a row, itll be poisoned for five seconds counting from the first hit, while the other four hits would not affect the DoT count at all. Only after those five seconds are up can Paralyze inflict a second DoT charge.
So what I think happens is that, when it occurs that the DoT ticks and the monster is hit with an active skill at the same time, both do damage but the game chooses to display only the damage done by the active skill, maybe to keep the screen from cluttering up too much.
