To help you distinguish between real GMs and GM impersonators, we have put together some tips for you.
1. GMs appear in game with a floating rotating GM sign with wings.
2. GMs will never contact you through Whispers.
3. GMs will never threaten to ban you if you do not give up items, mesos or your account information.
4. GMs will never ask for your PIC or password.
5. GMs do not talk or contact players with screen effects that look like the weather system.
6. Under specific and rare circumstances, GMs may contact you in game through Chat. Be sure the GM is wearing the obvious GM gear (the hat and/or briefcase with W is a clear indication).
If you meet somebody that claims they are a GM, go through the tips above. If they do not match with any one of the tips, they are an impersonator. Do not comply with the impersonators request and report them immediately.
