Infection's choice was quite obviously for the town, otherwise he would've gone with lolDaku's SteelSeraph claim and had everyone roll with that. It's nothing unnatural to be suspicious of someone who makes up some half-assed claim at the beginning of the game, especially when it immediately points fingers at another user.
Going with the Synthesist claim Day 1 simply because that's how 1 user interpreted the clue isn't going to get us anywhere. Look at how the first game turned out with our interpretations.
