Rain/snow could last for about 3 hours on the system clock, then it cycles though to another weather condition. Seasons also could play a factor in this, say if your playing in the spring/fall:

You might have a 40% chance to witness rain/sunshine, or a 15% chance of a lightning storm , and a 5% chance to witness snow.

Dawn/Afternoon/Dusk/Nightfall could occure every 6 hours, so it leaves flexability even for the people who play in different parts of the world.

Why CST? Because you're in that timezone? When you try to create speculation (like every single thread you've ever made), at least do it right, and make it realistic to the game. Not like this. A system this complex would invoke a lot of effort to create the system, for something that is purely cosmetic.

What about auras? Same buff kind, affected to the whole map. Attach that kind of buff to the effect, and you have all settled. A pair of tweaks needed, but the base is already there.

Aura only affects characters close to you (roughly 2 inches). Not the entire map.

What the hell is that? That's a hash together of the game before and after the SC. The images were edited to a darker tone. It isn't a weather affect, it's something to "signal the imminent doom the maple world will soon face". Faked video/10

Case and point: It is possible, but almost anything is possible in this game. Is it going to happen anytime soon? Well, that's for nexon to decide. There is a lot more useful things they can do before this. There's nothing that hints it's going to come anytime soon. Just another thread of random speculation by random_overlord. Please, next time, there's a fiction forum for ideas, unless that maple expansion section was removed. Quite a few things would fit better there then here. A lot of what you post usually ends up with a futile attempt to make your e-peen bigger by forcing your ideas onto everyone else.
