The best thing you can do is take it into somewhere like Best Buy to have the Geek Squad look at it, or take it to a local computer repair shop. If you don't think the computer is worth it anymore, do as you said and buy a new computer.

Mines pretty old too so Im looking to buy a new one, but atleast mine stays on. Just.. a lot of other pomegranate doesn't work, lol.
