Keyboard Problem: I=3? :f5:
#5
Yes, I'm pretty sure it's caused by the numlock. On my keyboard, in blue lettering in the top right of the keys, there is a second (or sometimes third) function of the key that I can access by pressing the "Fn" key at the same time. Num lock essentially holds down the Fn key for most of those keys. It's the same thing as those numbers and keys off to the right on a standard keyboard.

For example, with my laptop, typing "i have a lovely purple pen." would turn out as "5 have a 36ve3y *4r*3e *en." with numlock on.

It may not be the same on your laptop, but on mine, to turn on/off Numlock, it's Fn + F11 (the F11 key has "NumLk" written on it in blue).
