Actually it depends, sometimes you can't hack a PSP without a Pandora Battery. If you care, this USB thing works like this:
- Emulates a Jig Card, which is the one Sony uses for repair and debug issues,
- Emulates the firmware of the syscon and the TRM checks we have a debug console loading the debug kernel and lending all the functions to the VSHMAIN. Therefore letting you load unsigned software.
Problem is, Sony can easily patch this, since they should make the PS3 load the syscon before booting from the USB drive. :/
