So I saw Dragonball: Evolution last night

Shit was total brain bleach. It was a crappy attempt of a martial arts film, that the producers thought,

"Gee, this is a lousy movie. How do we get people to watch this?"
"Let's attach the name of a popular series!"

Honestly, it was a movie that appealed to no one. It couldn't appeal to kids nor the audiences who watched Dragonball on Toonami. It's impossible for me to imagine how this warranted a sequel despite an absolutely crappy job at the box office. Sequel will be based on the Raditz arc, by the way.

Everything about this movie was awful, comparing it to the "source material" or not. The fights looked like rubbish: it took just one charged Kamehameha to defeat Piccolo, and the CGI animation looked ridiculously stupid- especially when Shen Long showed up at the ending. Bringing up the lousy fight with Piccolo, the whole movie was spent on Goku worrying how he'd be able to fight Piccolo's minion, Oozaru. He spent the whole movie worrying about how to fight a henchman rather than the Big Bad himself, and he's able to beat Piccolo with just a charged Kamehameha.

The only GOOD thing about this movie was the Ayumi Hamasaki song at the credits.
