General Grieves Is the Model of a Modern Major General

all in all grievous was a very interesting character. but on the topic of let downs: Dooku. okay, he stands up to Yoda, Obi-wan, AND anakin in the 2nd movie, and yet dies so damned easily in the third? you mean to tell me that im supposed to believe that Dooku forgot how to use force push while Anakin was holding the sabers near his neck and LOOKING AWAY AT THE CHANCELOR/EMPEROR? yeah yeah, it's for the sake of the plot, but still. and what about that Darth whatshisface Palpatine mentions to Anakin, was Palpatine his former pupil or something?

According to Wookieepedia, Count Dooku practiced Form II: Makashi which had flowing graceful movements that conserved energy and waited for critical hits. He used this style in conjunction with Dun Moch a Sith technique used to mock the opponent in order to weaken them psychologically and look for openings to attack. In the battle against Anakin, Dooku made a mistake in using Dun Moch against Anakin because he just pissed him off and caused him to go berserk. The fact that Anakin practiced the offensive lightsaberart of Form V: Shien / Djem that involved relentlessly attacking the enemy didn't help Count Dooku in the slightest as he had to siphon extra energy in order to repel such attacks using Form II which is not what the formation was intended for when it came to a lightsaber fight. Even though Dooku knew other styles, he probably didn't expect Anakin to attack him so ferociously and was thus unable to consciously change forms in time as he was too comfortable relying on Form II in the past battles. It was Count Dooku who found himself psychologically overwhelmed and physically overpowered before the Emperor goaded Anakin into killing Dooku. Dooku had been set-up the entire time by Emperor Palpatine. Also, Dooku was fighting both Obi-wan and Anakin at the same time, which was what his Form II excelled at in comparison to other forms. The only other form that comes close would be Form VII that is practiced by Darth Maul in the first movie. But even then this is subverted as Darth Maul used a specially made double-bladed lightsaber that enabled him to use VII against multiple opponents. Grievous was trained in all seven forms and and had his droids also trained in all seven forms as well yet they were all killed in the first thirty seconds of the movie. Grievous was also up against only Obi-wan and still got his ass kicked despite having lost everything, being a billion dollar investment, and having supposedly originally been a tribe that only knew how to live by fighting to the death. Grievous was honestly such a waste of potential.
