I personally get the you are not high enough message a ton because I'm used to tapping keys so that skills come out as quickly as possible. Also, I have it on its own macro, seems to work better that way.
As for tornado spin, I do think there should be an option to turn off and/or change key-sequence activated skills like the tornado spin dash, pirate dash, combat step, etc. I don't run into the accidental tornado spin problem much though though I did when playing my pirate and aran. I guess it has something to do with that double tapping during a skill doesn't register like combat step does and that so many skills move your character. It should be better once you start training with FA -> TS/BS.
