Trouble Connecting to the Internet
#1
I hate Windows 7. Whenever I'm in a coffee shop, my laptop automatically tries to "identify" the network, and half of the time, it fails to do so. I can only "diagnose" the problem over and over and over again and hope it comes on. For instance, it took me half an hour to connect to the internet just now.

The problem is that whenever the network is "unidentified", somehow, Windows 7 declares it as public and blocks my internet access, despite it being available. No matter how hard I try, it won't let me change the setting from a public network to a work network, which would allow me to connect to the internet.

I urgently need help with this. It is a recurring problem, and when I attend college next year, I can't afford wasting this much time every time I try to connect to the internet.

I need a manual solution, which the "Help and Support" feature did NOT provide me with. Someone please help me fix this.
