Quickly, whip up a lunar lander with minimal testing and tons of wiring issues and stick 3 men who have nothing to lose on it and beat the Koreans! What? Who cares if they die, they'll be heros! We must win!
Lol, I love how we were 'racing' the Soviets to land a man on the moon when the Soviets said "Hey, that's too dangerous, we'd never put a human in that much danger", so they sent a rover up there a few months after us =P
