How does the the penicillin and the medrol reach your gums? Do you take digestable pills and then the drug is specifically oriented to reroute to your mouth? I couldn't imagine simply relying on rinsing to rid myself of small food particles that could be leftover in my gumline and possibly getting stuck in there when new teeth reform.

Antibiotic and two over the counter painkillers. Tylenol usually contains acetaminophen with no trace of aspirin or caffeine. In comparison, Anacin contains aspirin and caffeine & Excedrin contains acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine. Theoretically speaking, the Tylenol is like the icing on the cake. If I recall correctly, ibuprofen is used to reduce swelling because it is a steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. The Tylenol would probably help post-pain after the wound has healed since it cannot help with swelling.
