But why sacrifice the power you could have for HP that you don't really even need to begin with?

Ranged can use the HP gear so they survive at bossing without needing to shell out hundreds of dollars or billions of mesos to have as much HP as the cool kids NX whores, and hey I don't mind at all at trying to go for +27% HP pieces of equipment because it sounds cool to have. Even if I don't need HP gear after the Big Bang patch comes here I like the idea that I have an option to turn my 11k HP into 20k+ levels.

Ah well, at least potential scrolls won't make my common low level INT gear any less efficient. 200% potential-d of say a +150 INT set is only 300 INT. I own a 250 INT gear set right now. I think I'll only potential the level 71 + items and leave the 70 - items alone. I'll stick to wasting tons of NX on non-mage gear like everyone else :[.

That potential increases the final amount of the designated stat, not just the equipment bonuses. Enjoooooooooy.
