Quoting Dusk on the issue: They're trying to fix some of the unbalanced bull pomegranate other versions spit out. Onyx Apples, as they currently work, are such a horrible, game breaking potion. Even after the BB Update, they leave Mages in the dust. By giving a class like Corsairs an inescapable attack buff, they killed any chance of them using Apples. That actually balances them out, to an extent, when competing with other classes.
Still... all of that could be avoided with a simple change to Onyx Apples. +100 w/m Atk -> +100% w/m Atk would solve everything that's wrong with them. :|
Like dozens of posters before me have said: You have to realize how important Funding is. The different between a godly Potential set, a good one, and none is measured in multiples of the latter. When being Godly raises your DPS by 5 or 6 fold, you cannot judge a class by one, or even 5 videos.
