Giving free resets is not generous. It's a standard for being a decent human. They've never pineappleed with skills this much, so they had better give resets. Some skills were removed from the game. What are they going to do? Let that 20-30 SP go to waste? Let the new skills that got the same ID as the old ones get added into? What happens when the old one had a max of 30 and the new one has 20?

Edit: And then there's those free resets from the DB deal.

Getting SP (AP, I think its called. iunno) in Mabi is so easy, and it's already a very heavy NX game. You can play Maple without NX. You cannot play Mabi without it.
