What's wrong with the movement? A second assaulter brings you back to where you started, no?

There's nothing wrong with the movement. Assaulter is used to move you from one area to another. This means you can platform jump with it, or use it as a finishing move to quickly begin attacking the next mob. Or, if you want, use Assaulter to stun the enemy, then quickly use BoT to hit the enemy in front and behind. So yeah, Assaulter is really not used for damage, but for positional advantage.
