J.K. Rowling is the hugest sell-out on the face of this Earth. Do you know why there needs to be a magical school? It must be a magical school because most people are forced to attend school as compulsory education. It is extremely convenient to sell the idea of a school that operates similarly to a real school, except with the subject being primarily about magic. Do you know why there needs to be a griffin, a dragon, a werewolf, a shark, and a spider as "mythical" monsters that exist in this "fantasy" realm? It is extremely convenient to sell the idea of a griffin, a dragon, a werewolf, a shark, and a spider since we are all familiar with pictures of griffins, dragons, werewolves, sharks, and spiders. Original innovations within the series are perhaps the hippogriff and the sphinx like monster that guarded the maze. But these monsters do not play primary roles and their function is similar to the canon they represent. In a true "fantasy" would there truly be animals, much less mosnters that we are very familiar with in real life? Or would describing their unique attributes detract too much from the readers attention and thus seem too unfamiliar and foreign to them. Of course, this is my opinion. J.K. Rowling let that comment slip after her final book was released. It could be probable that her comment could incite the interest of people to borrow or buy other books in the series in order to find Dumbledore references. It is also possible that J.K. Rowling is attempting to win over a portion of readers that are homosexual. It seems like the strategy to get the growing niche of homosexuals to buy into literatures, television, and other sales products is quite plausible. I don't believe that I'm delusional or cynical into believing that people want to make a profit. In the end, everyone is trying to make money and personal profit. J.K. Rowling will have to try very hard to sell-out again. This book may be her income for the rest of her life and she may be trying to squeeze out every possible penny.
I see that you want to make this personal. If you don't believe that people look after themselves, then you're the one who is delusional. J.K. Rowling is just doing what she needs to in order to survive. Her writing represents everything wrong with the mainstream fiction genre that is popular among young boys and girls. I'm only simply stating my opinion and defending that idea. If you don't think I'm being candid, then that's up to you. If you think I'm trying to show off my "intelligence" or think that I have a superiority complex, then you can believe that as well. I don't need to use ad-hominems in order to make my point. I focus on the integrity of the argument itself, rather than the person who is posting behind the screen. This is why I get fucking pissed off, at the little bastards that feel the need to use their personal information in order to back up their opinions. "I'm a science major so you should drink lots of vitamin C when you're sick." If you're a damn science major, you should explain the biology or the chemistry behind vitamin C that allows it to prevent sickness. People should gauge your major by how you represent yourself. Not what you spell out for them. If they don't have the intelligence to figure out for themselves what is truth or fiction, then they're just second rate trash. And I will boldly state that there is very little integrity in those statements made by Lady Gaga and J.K. Rowling. If you want me to spell it out for you, then I will. But anyone who has stuck up for their own opinion and beliefs should inherently KNOW that these comments made by these two business women are NOT sincere at all.
