I always wondered about this part of a certain quote..
The part in bold is something I never understood. Of course, if you put it together with the other part, it makes complete sense. However, alone, it always puzzled me. For example, if I truly love my girlfriend, I would surely not let her go, in fact, I'd fight to win her love to show that I did indeed love her.
What are your thoughts, and do you necessarily agree with the bolded part of the quote?
