Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies and Pokemon [RPG]
#90
OOC: I'm going to take a chance and get as much as I can done before SouthPerry possibly closes down.

---

It had been several days since Lyssane passed through Cerulean City and Mt. Moon. Cerulean City's situation was much like that of Vermillion City, except the trainers there had no plans to abandon the city. They did mention that something odd had happened at Bill's lighthouse. Something about a smart zombie human commanding zombie Pokemon. When her Pokemon heard about that, they all shivered in uncertainty and fear. Still, they couldn't stay for long, so they pressed through the caverns of Mt. Moon.

Mt. Moon was expectedly dark. Once again, Charmander's tail lit the way, but this time Lyssane remembered about the zombie detection program, and used it to avoid the majority of zombie Pokemon. They did run into a few zombies that the zombie detection program found too late, but it seemed that all of Lyssane's problems throughout this whole journey were solved by killing everything with fire. Of course, the zombies in Mt. Moon were no exception. Lyssane briefly wondered if she should become a fire-type gym leader instead.

Close to the exit, Lyssane came across what appeared to be a dead archeologist. While Charmander was anxiously rummaging through his backpack, almost sobbing (this confused the other three Pokemon), Lyssane found that he was clutching a bloody letter, and began to read through it.

---

To whoever finds this:

My name is Smith, one of Pewter City's archeologists. I had been exploring Mt. Moon to search for more fossils. The Museum of Pewter City has a device that could extract the DNA from fossils to recreate ancient Pokemon. Don't be surprised if you've never heard of such a thing, because after all, this device has been kept secret to all but the people closest to Professor Oak.

When the zombie outbreak reached Pewter City, we all faced a difficult situation: Revive all of the fossil Pokemon that we currently had - and risk losing these records of the ancient world to the zombies - or try to defend Pewter City without them. We initially chose the second option. Everything went well for a while, until one by one, our Pokemon started turning into zombies, even the Pokemon that had never fought a zombie. We found that contaminated potions arrived the day after the zombie outbreak had reached Pewter City. The person running the Pokemart told us that he (and his brother running the Pokemart in Fuschia City) had ordered these supplies from a supplier in Olivine City. I hope the people of Fuschia City find out about this before it's too late, but I now fear the worst had already happened since we lost all contact with the city recently. I also hope that none of the other towns and cities of Kanto and Johto ordered anything from the same supplier.

All supplies in Pewter City from before that day are still safe to use, but we still lost the majority of our Pokemon. So we had no choice but to use our fossils to recreate the ancient Pokemon.

Our troubles didn't end there. Someone broke in and stole all of the fossils on the first floor. We attempted to chase after him, but we lost him when he jumped over a twenty foot gate blocking off Pewter City from the wilderness of the Silver mountain range. We don't know how, but we now think that he had a Psychic Pokemon of some sort assisting him.

Now you know why I had to come here and search for more fossils. A few days before, my son had been reported missing, along with his boat sailing to Cinnabar Island. I still have hope that he and his Charmander are still alive, and I did not want my missing son to come back to Pewter City to find everyone dead. I was unsuccessful in finding any fossils, other than this odd piece of Old Amber. It should be in my backpack, if you are interested in taking it to Pewter City. If my observations are correct, it should contain the DNA of an Aerodactyl, a powerful Pokemon that ruled the skies of the ancient world. A valuable addition to anyone's team - and your foe's greatest nightmare.

(Here, the scribbles become incredibly hard to read. Blood obscures some parts of the last few sentences, and the few that weren't obscured made less sense. All Lyssane could undestand from it was that he was attacked by a group of mushroom insects (Paras?), got away, and something about telling his wife and son that he loved them.)

(Additionally, there was something about a warning, his body, and 'stepping away'.)

---

Then, something grabbed Lyssane's leg. She looked down to find that the archeologist wasn't dead. She was glad, until she looked closer. Yeah, he wasn't dead, all right. He was UN-dead. Lyssane screamed, and the startled Charmander whirled around and smashed the zombified archeologists' skull with his hammer. It took a few seconds for Charmander to register everything that he just did within his mind. It was Charmander's turn to break down into tears.

Lyssane and her Pokemon later made it to Pewter City safely with the Old Amber and the letter - only to find all survivors holed up within the museum, and lots and lots of zombie maggots (being Weedle and Caterpie) and flies (being their evolved forms) shuffling around the front door. At least there didn't appear to be any zombies anywhere else in the city, at least from what the zombie detection program mapped out, and from Lyssane's vantage point on the roof of the Pewter City gym.

---

Current Location: Roof of the Pewter City Gym
Current Objective: Find a way past the zombies and get into the museum. Find a way to use the old Amber to create an Aerodactyl, and then get rid of all of the critters outside if possible.

For future reference:

Aerodactyl @ Hard Stone
- Ice Fang
- Stone Edge
- Aerial Ace
- Double Team
