I honestly can say I feel like I have wasted almost all of this whole school year maybe even most of my entire school life. Yes I don't really care anymore so to confirm most peoples thoughts I am a middle schooler. This whole year was probably the best social year of my life. I got a girlfriend, became really popular, and learned a little bit. Then again in my perspective you really don't learn anything new in middle school. Or at least not like how you learn important skills in high school or college. Honestly without trying to make my self seem like I think i'm the smartest person in the world i'd like to say that really the only thing i've ever learned from school is math. Everything else i've learned throughout experiencing life. I'm one of those kids who gets by in school with A's and B's without even trying. Its all common no-ledge in my opinion. Up until this afternoon I was loving it, It was a second life away from home.
This year was my 7th grade year and now I am moving on to 8th grade. Although, our school is a tad odd because they have mixed grade's (for example 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7,8). It's also not the biggest school so unless your one of those kids who is ignorant and unaware of whats going on you pretty much no everyone. For at least two thirds of the 8th graders I know who graduated today i've been in the same class with since 1/2. Since 1st grade I've worked to get to the social point I'm at. The 8th graders were at least one half of the population in the school that I know as friends instead of just seeing them around. Our school isn't really the best high school though. Its K-12. So as you'd expect a ton of people are going to different high schools. I was aware of this and wasn't to upset... Until I went on facebook and out of the 240 of my friends that are 8th graders that I know and see everyday at school. 217 posted on their wall saying that they are going to different schools. It's not just one different school its at least 6. I to plan on going to a different school. but... does that even matter at this point? Oh and yes I do have friends in the same grade as me. Tons actually. but instead of having 240+ of them I only have 50...
And don't even ask about those snot nosed 6th graders moving up...
I've entered this mode of sort of depression sort of logics. My current thought on it is that I'm a fool. I shouldn't have treated school in an academic way instead of a social way. Heck I probably won't even meet those people ever again in my life. Is it ok for me to suddenly blow off 7 years of friendships to say this? I really don't know and thats why I'm asking you. Is it right for me to not even care about those memories anymore and to be looking at it in a more logical way? I think theres a small possibility i'm just doing this in shock but for some reason it makes sense to me but doesn't feel right.
I didn't want to put this in the angry dome because honestly I'm not angry i'm more confused and sad. I also wanted real feed back not flame response feedback.
EDIT: on the bright side at least I have my girl friend...
