Most Latias won't run HP fire.
And if it doesn't, an unboosted surf will usually 2HKO, allowing for two bullet punches, most likely enough to kill it.

Latias is not Uber material, plenty of common pokemon take it down.
While they're at it, they might as well ban Scizor, the most overused pokemon in the entire metagame.
If they're gonna ban a pokemon that has plenty of weaknesses to it, they might as well go through every other pokemon before it first.
