Bossing methods as Corsair
#2
Blup Wrote:I've recently hit 132 (planning on at least 134 before the weekend) on my corsair. I've maxed cannon, now maxing battleship.
My question is, what methods should I use to kill mini bosses efficiently without breaking my ship so much. I've tried several bosses so far, so I'll wright how I've kill them:
You should know that 13x is a bit early to be bossing, so I think it'd be more weird if you didn't feel useless. Strategies...

Quote:Anego - pin left with RF, cannon till death, pray for it to stay pinned while I pot MP\recast booster.
Pretty much correct. If it's pinned though, it should never get out of the corner while you recast booster. Maybe it'll move a little when you cast MW, but Booster should be easy. Auto-MP is nice.

Quote:Zak (not solo) - tank arms (managed to tank 8 mins of arms with lvl 6 ship @ 132), demount @ 1\1 (which he spams, I feel so useless Tongue)
Not much you can do about group Zak runs. I recommend you stay on the very top platforms on either side for as long as you can, especially on the left. Only the drain arms and the I/L arm (if you're on the right) can hit you when you're up there, and they only do either 1500ish damage (for HP drain) or 1 damage (for MP drain). Remember to cast Homing so you don't shoot into the ground. Lastly, try to stay on the left of Zakum while your boat is alive for as long as possible so you can jump-attack back into place. As for the bodies, I only dismount for 1/1's. If you dismount for every attack, you might as well not use your boat at all.

Quote:Griffy (I count him and manon as bosses since they're annoying as hell) - I managed to pin it, but still, is there a method to kill him without having my ship to break?
Manon - this is where hell started. He stun locks me on the ship, making it break and taking me 8 minutes and roughly 100 pots to kill 1 pesky manon.
Both of these guys have *almost* as much range as you do. It's possible (albeit hard) to keep them at the very end of your range in the middle of the map, moving forward every two shots or so. If you notice that it's attacking, you can move back a few pixels and then keep attacking. It's easier once they're pinned, but the Kentaurus mess it up most of the time. Recently though, I've found it easier and faster to just use Bullseye and stay on top of them, shooting Cannon from inside them. Wouldn't really work with low ship durability though.

Quote:Dodo - doesnt stun, but takes a shi'tload of pots and breaks my ship because his fishes have a huge range.
The fish aren't that hard to dodge. Practice timing your jump-shots to go over the fish.

Quote:Pap - didn't try yet, planning to try on 134. Any method to keep my ship alive?
Not really. His stuff hits the whole screen, and you'd do no damage if you dismounted every time he attacks. Just dismount for 1/1's and deal with the fact that he'll be free-roaming while your ship is broken. Also, watch out for 2nd form. I died a few times when I first tried because I couldn't KB him and he ran me over. I honestly don't know how to beat him without KBing him constantly. If you're scared, you could try spamming Homing or Torpedo (whichever is stronger) and kill him with that. It'd take a while, but you'd be more alive.

Quote:Lily - didn't get to it yet, would love a method on it too.
He's actually really easy. Jump attack every time he stomps the ground (which he does often) and you'll almost never get hit. He has an ice attack that hits for nearly 4k, but you'd have to get unlucky for him to spam it. Just watch out for his Damage Reflect, he casts it right when he gets to 50% HP. Auto-HP will save your life when he casts it.

Quote:Leviathan - No idea.
Not much you can do about this guy. Same as Pap, really. He has very few attacks and they hit much farther than you can. Tank it as long as you can.

Quote:Bigfoot - I'll try it someday.
I never have and never will.

Quote:CWKPQ bosses - Snipe warrior+mage, any way to avoid damage on thief?
Every group does it differently, so I don't know what to tell you for specific strategies. There really isn't any way to dodge attacks from any of them except the Mage (her range is short) though. The group I went with usually pinned all three of them left, so (since I hate being stunned) I decided to throw Homing at one of them, stand on top of the three of them, and spam Cannon. Even at my level it doesn't last much more than 2 minutes though. The CWK bosses really aren't range-friendly.

Quote:Any other bosses I've forgot are welcome (HH doesn't count)
HT is yet another boss that you just have to deal with the hard way. He has so many attacks going on at once that there's not much you can do except hope it lasts for a while. When the arm and wing dies, I suggest going to fight the top left head (while most other people will be on the top right one) so you can jump-attack back into place when you get hit. It's not as big of a deal for most people (everyone else has higher speed and higher avoid, or stance), but getting hit is huge for a Corsair. 80% speed and sh'itty avoid mean you'll be losing a lot of damage while you're on the right. So stay left as much as possible. Oh, and having 5.6k base HP so you can survive without HB (after the wings die) is mandatory for that strategy.

Quote:That's it more or less. I need methods to pin bosses and keep the ship alive, so I could boss effectively. Help, anyone? Frown
If you want to talk to me more in-depth, I can get on and say hi. I've seen you around town every now and then.
