By the way, deaths have no effect on your score, just time. I got an 8:07.35 (less than a second slower than my other time), but with 100 less deaths but I still got a lower score.

I always figured the scoring system was bsed on the time you took and the amount of deaths you had. Low time + high deaths = big score.
