According to this thread, Evan's + Thorns results in 65% (30% + 35%) success for 275% (150% + 125%) damage. The reason Thorns affects Evans is probably due to the fact that Critical Magic's success rate < Thorns success rate. That would explain why it doesn't affect Archers/NLs who have higher critical rates.
Apparently, Thorns only affects Arans when they are building combos, so I would assume that it only applies to Arans when their natural Critical rate is < 35%.
